UTS: Communication short courses

There are a range of communication short courses offered, in practical and creative areas through the:

  • Centre for Information and Knowledge Management offer an Executive Certificate in Knowledge Management

  • Australian Centre for Independent Journalism offers professional hands-on short courses in journalism and the media. The courses are ideal for people currently working in industry or those looking to develop new skills.

  • Australian Centre for Public Communication run the Media Presentation Skills (Corporate Training) Programs designed to develop the skills and confidence of participants when interacting with the media, and delivering a messages successfully. Programs are tailored to the specific needs and experiences of each organisation and their participants.

  • Centre for New Writing offers a range of practice-based courses to enable participants to enhance their writing and professional skills in an encouraging and supportive writing environment.

  • The UTS Pro School (opens an external site) offers professionals and aspiring professionals alike the opportunity to gain expertise and certification in using Digidesign Pro Tools TM audio technology . It is one of the few Australian Pro Schools that can take you from the fundamentals of Pro Tools TM right through to the 300-level.

  • UTS is an Apple Authorised Training Centre that offers Apple Pro Training (opens an external site) for professionals and aspiring professionals alike the opportunity to gain expertise and certification in using Final Cut Studio TM Pro and Logic TM Pro - the industry leading tools for media and music creation, production and post production.

  • AFA Adschool (opens an external site) is the only academically recognised industry education program accredited by the Advertising Federation of Australia (AFA). It offers focused, practical and specialist training across all disciplines of advertising in partnership with the Faculty's Australian Centre for Public Communication.
