Arts and social sciences student community

Arts and social sciences students belong to a busy community who work on projects on a voluntary basis or meet socially in and around the campus. There are online communities run by students.

Advertising students in public communication are putting their learning to practice with assignments for real clients such as The Trading Post (opens an external site) - reps from the publication were so impressed with student campaigns that they published several of them in the paper.

Social inquiry students start implementing social change while still at university through community ventures such as those organised by UTS: Shopfront, the University's community research and advocacy centre.

UTS: Golden Eye Awards is a biennial showcase of outstanding creative works produced by students and recent graduates of the highly respected UTS: Media arts and production program area. UTS: Media arts and production students and graduates have also participated in film festivals like Sundance and Melbourne International, and screened their films and received accolades at the Australian Film Industry Awards, Tropfest, Arcipelago, Berlinale, Cannes, and even the Academy Awards!

Student can also be involved with 2SER-FM, a community radio station with a studio located at the UTS City campus.
